Catherine Masson

Catherine (Cathy) Masson is the Vice President of Beauty & Personal Care Merchandising, charged with leading the transformation of our store and online merchandising in the beauty and personal care categories. She also defined and developed a customer-centric strategy for enhancing our skincare business with a focus on introducing new and emerging brands including Private Label.

Cathy has been a catalyst for change in Rite Aid’s approach to merchandising while improving process to enhance our customers’ overall instore experience while redefining our supply chain and speed to shelf. She has also been deeply involved in developing the future vision for the Beauty space and all the key elements. Before joining Rite Aid Masson spent more than 30 years at Canada’s leading retail pharmacy, appointed Vice President of Beauty in 2013. Cathy has a diverse background including operational experience from front store to merchandising, including category management, private label, fixture creation, and launching e-com strategies.

Cathy has a wealth of beauty merchandising experience and for over 20 years she led the evolution and transformation of the Beauty landscape in Canada. Cathy has also received several awards and honors in recognition of her exceptional career, including a Cosmetic Executive Award, WWD retailer of the year, and has served as advisory council for many leading brands. She has also been nominated by her peers to chair the beauty industry’s largest fundraiser, Look Good Feel Better Mirror Ball, serving on the committee for 10 years.
