Joe Hartsig

Chief Merchandising Officer, Walgreen Co.

Joe Hartsig is chief merchandising officer for the Walgreen Co. based in Deerfield, Illinois. In this capacity, he leads the merchandising function, overseeing all store buying and planning groups that include Beauty and Personal Care, Health and Wellness and the Competitive Convenience businesses. He also leads the regional merchandising and digital commerce businesses, including Walgreens.com and the largest brick and mortar photo business in the U.S. Before this, Hartsig was responsible for all marketing and digital commerce business efforts for Walgreens, including leading brand strategy and planning, category and pharmacy marketing, creative design services, and Balance Rewards, one of the largest loyalty programs in the United States. He also oversaw Walgreens digital commerce units, including leading omni-channel strategy, and having P&L responsibility for the walgreens.com and drugstore.com businesses.

Jeff Koziel

Senior Vice President, Operations, Walgreen Co.

Jeff Koziel is a senior vice president leading operations for Walgreens, overseeing all aspects of customer care and operational performance for the national drugstore chain. He is responsible for program implementation, quality, healthcare services, clinic operations, asset protection, comprehensive loss, central pharmacy operations and call center operations across the company's more than 8,200 locations. Koziel's passion for retail and expertise in operations stems from his 22 years of experience working in the field and at the corporate office. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of pharmacy and retail operations, focused on providing ongoing support for retail locations. Prior to that, he held a number of field leadership roles including pharmacy manager, district manager and regional vice president in New York City for both Walgreens and Duane Reade stores. He has also served in leadership roles for pharmacy operations and the Healthcare Clinic businesses. Koziel earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Pharmacy at Midwestern University in Chicago and currently sits on the college's Deans Advisory Board.
