Christina Groth is the vice president of Health and Beauty Care & Non-Foods for The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati, Ohio. She leads the category management teams in setting and executing the assortment, merchandising, and marketing strategies for over 2,600 Kroger stores.
Christina joined The Kroger Co. in the Fred Meyer division as an intern in 2001. Since then, she has held a variety of leadership positions overseeing Shoes, Cosmetics, Children’s Apparel, Women’s Accessories and Deli/Bakery for the Fred Meyer division, and was most recently Senior Director of General Merchandise, helping to lead the integration of General Merchandise for Fred Meyer and Kroger. Christina was promoted to her current role in May 2015.
Christina is a graduate of Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Until recently relocating to Cincinnati, she was an advisory board member for Portland State University’s Center for Retail Leadership and served as Vice Chair of the Red Cross Oregon Trail Chapter.
Christina has been recognized for her leadership by various organizations and was selected as one of the Portland Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 in 2015. In addition, she has attended several women’s leadership events on behalf of Kroger including Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Next Gen Summit and the Network of Executive Women Executive Leaders Forum. Christina is also the co-chair of Kroger’s Women’s Edge group, whose mission is to attract, develop and strengthen women by creating opportunities to grow valued leaders.
